This is a distraction

I get distracted very easily from doing what I'm suppose to be doing... Like now. I should be reading about shadow puppet shows in South East Asia but I'm not. Distractions lead to procastination... which is TERRIBLE. What is even more terrible.. if that makes any sense, is that I procastinated on studying for 3 prelims... and ended up studying for them that weekend.. 3 days to study for 3 prelims... sounds fair but its not! A lot of material to cover and memorize. Eh, this is me ranting about how much my life sucks, but there CHILDREN out there with cancer manggg! CHILDREN abused and raped!! Yeah, my life doesn't suck that much anymore...

Sleep early, wake up early!

     One thing that I have never been able to do at school, especially when I'm dorming, is sleep early. And by early, I mean any time before 12AM, which isn't exactly early, but definitely earlier than my normal sleeping time. Sleeping early makes waking up early a lot easier too. However, I still press snooze like two times. After splashing some cold water on my face, I feel refreshed and completely forget that I was sleepy a second ago. According to howtowakeupearly.com, waking up early increases your productivity and I have felt that lately. I feel like I have so much more time to do things that are on my to-do list. *Ahem* I am avoiding one thing though, I haven't started on my summer reading and that essay that we have to do too. I definitely need to start on that, anyway... Even though I'm sleeping at what is consider early for me (before 12AM), I wake up at 7AM, which is only 7 hours-ish of sleep. I would have to sleep at 11PM to get 8 hours, which I haven't been able to do yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to achieve that, so that at my dorm, i'll be able to sleep early and wake up feeling awake for class!

     I was told by someone, I forgot who, probably a health article that I read somewhere, (sorry can't give credit here) but it said you can't just change your sleeping schedule in one day. What you have to do to achieve an earlier sleeping time is sleep 15 minutes earlier everyday until you have reached your desired time. This definitely worked for me, I was sleeping at 1AM-ish before, and then I started work, which means that I need to wake up early translating to sleeping earlier too. And I used this method to achieve that time, I would definitely recommend this method to try AT LEAST. Its worth a shot. Its 10:30PM and I have to go shower and SLEEEP! Night!

Dance to this song

Just finished watching the baseball game between Yankees and Red Sox, and YANKEES LOST =( =(!! I was rootin' and still lost. I don't normally watch baseball lol, but I was that bored at home today. Turned on the TV and it was on so HELLO TIME WASTER! :)

I have to admit I've been a little lazy about posting here, but I have valid reasons. It's been extremely HOT, like HEAT WAVE HOT. Sweating like a pig makes you not want to do anything, even with the AC. Any how, here's the update from me:

I'm trying to find some interesting books to read... Well LUCKILY *note sarcasm* Cornell sent me a book to read. It's weird, once a book is assigned, it makes it a chore to read rather than for fun. The title of the book is something along the lines of "Do androids dream of electronic sheeps" ... REAL NERDY THERE CORNELL! hahaha Oh boy I can't wait to read it! I really am trying to find some good books to get myself into because I feel like I haven't read for fun in a longggggg time, the last time that I did do that was probably in 8th grade, i don't know. 

I'm re-learning some skills this summer, I don't really wanna say what kind of skills cause it's gonna sound lame. It looks like it is not gonna be as bad as I thought it might be. However, it does feel like it's gonna end real soon. I'm going to Cornell on AUG 20th!!! CRAZYYY. oh piece of candy, oh piece of candy, oh piece of candy, oh piece of candy... BYE!

On the bus and train.

I went on the bus today and I saw and SMELL some strange stuff. First, I walked into a full bus with no seats available for me to sit down, so I ended up standing. There was a man, with a head filled with white hair mixed with black hair, sitting down in front of me and had his hand in his face. I looked down because I was curious about what he was doing with his hand (in a non perverted way), and I saw that he was sticking his thumb into his noes and was probably searching for some boogers, lol, then took out his thumb to examine whether he did a job and saw that he had no boogers in his thumb so went back in to search some more. I was embarrassed  for him!! Don't worry, the worst is not over! Have you ever encounter people who can make the room fill up with their scent? Usually, it's nice when it smells like fruity, floral perfume but the man who walked into the bus smelled like ARMPITS! Yeah, he needed 2 sticks of deodorant one for each side. THEN another man walks in and he smelled like WEED!! You put those two together and you get an awful smelling bus! 

My two cents

I notice that lately I haven't been courtesy flushing... yes, i'm talking about flushing after every poop that comes out. I used to, but after going to college I stopped doing that... i don't know why. Personally, I like courtesy flushing because it doesn't let the smell linger and have your poop sit there in the toilet. It also doesn't clog up the drain if you flushed it all at once. Anyhow, I hope I didn't disgust anyone, its an important matter.

No time!!

The list of things I have to do never ends... I wonder how it'll feel like if I gave up and don't have to do anything anymore... Would I wonder what it would feel like if I had stuff to do? I guess either way, you're doomed. On one hand you have nothing to do and therefore never feel any progress or achievements. And on the other, a long list of things I need to do creates a lot of stress which = pimples.

If only there was more time in a dayyyy!

A crucial decision.

Getting into Cornell made me realize that I don't really want to leave stony brook. When I first applied I thought that if i got into Cornell, it would be a "no need for second thought" decision.. automatically Cornell. But now that I am more settle into Stony Brook and made a good group of friends I have second thoughts about leaving. I'll miss the many stupid things we do and say, then laugh and make fun of it later. I'll miss those evenings when we make home cooked food and eat together like a family. I'm not going to be able to go back home every month when I go to Cornell, and bring back home food... I'll miss home food. I was so planned out for next semester at stony... i had the perfect schedule!!! No classes thursdays so i can shop as much i want and an online class that is suppose to be easy, and a lot other easy decs! But I'm going to have to give that up. I'm going to have to settle for the left over terrible teachers and classes in Cornell because all the good ones would be taken already!

Hopefully, everything will work out...

Can't find anything I like...

     The other I was out with my sister, shopping around 34th street, she was looking for a birthday present and I was just browsing. I wasn't sure what I wanted exactly, this seems to be happening to me a lot. But I ended up getting a skinny belt that fits around my hip but I think it would have been better if it had fit around my waist instead, and i got a two-ended make-up brush. I was extremely satisfied with the brush because it's really really soft.
     Lately I have been hesitant to spend my money on clothes or anything else. I strongly believe it is the pressure of having to pay for school... just thinking about having to buy textbooks for next term gives me a headache. What makes it worst is that I don't work. Maybe I should find a job around campus... It would definitely lessen the stress.

Whoopee Cushion!

The other day I met up with some of my high school friends and it really made me think about the future. Fives years from now, will we still be coming together for lunch? Or will we not even acknowledge each other at all. I highly doubt the second statement only because I feel so close to all of them and it would be sad if we do not recognize the existences of each other.
I think the funniest part would be when we decided to go into Rite Aid since we were left with no other ideas as to what we shall do. We wander the make-up aisle in Rite Aid cause we're that girly... haha. But we got to the school supplies section and THERE IT WAS a whoopee cushion! With the whoopee cushion, we had this grand idea that we would search for victims to prank this on. We waited for people to walk by and we would 'release the gas' It is one of the MOST funniest things. We walked by regular people running errands and we laid one on them... and they would casually look around and see a group of girls and walk away. I was definitely laughing so hard tears came out of my eyes and my stomache ached. This made me realize the kid that I am. And I think no matter what age, farts will always be funny.

Need NEW Hair!

     Sitting at home with my computer by myself can get really boring. It calls for a change... what might that be you ask, my hair!! It is probably the easiest thing to try and change by yourself. Of course I'm not a professional hairstylist so I decided to watch videos on youtube on how to cut your own hair. I came across a lot of how to cut side bangs or how to get side swept bangs... For some reason those are some of the most viewed videos on youtube. After watching maybe 5 videos... I locked myself in the bathroom and took the shears behind the mirror and attempted to create side swept bangs. Well if you know me, you know that I'm not brave enough to go all out and cut a lot, so I ended up taking really small snips. Sadly it didn't really come out as planned or how it ended up on the videos... I'm thinking maybe it's the shape of my head, I don't know haha. Maybe after another wash it'll come out better... well hopefully! If not, I might have to go back to my boring ole standard middle part.

My Discovery About Lipliners

     From my mini, mini drugstore haul post, I told you that I got a lipliner. I have never used lipliners before because I thought they didn't do anything usefull. But I finally learned the purpose of it! Isn't that GREAT? haha. I was watching a youtube video on how to get the perfect nude lips and the person used a lipliner and said that it will fill in the cracks of your lips. YUP! that's its purpose. It doesn't look good at all if you have cracky nude lips. So I took the lipliner that I got and filled my whole lips with it. I realized though, that the color of the liner is too dark, now I'm looking for one that matchs the natural color of my lips or a clear one... I don't really like dark lips. So ignoring the fact that it's too dark I filled it in and put on my beige frost lipstick. It made such a big difference! It made my lips look really smooth which is not the case if you did not put on the lip liner. However, I don't like frost lipsticks I've realized... I might have said that on another post. Now I gotta find that perfect shade! I might try this clear one from L'Oreal.

Review: Sherlock Holmes the movie

Yesterday I went to see Sherlock Holmes. I never read the books or anything but only heard of it. I was kind of excited to see it because Jude Law was in it, Jude Law plays Watson, the doctor. I would have to say that the movies has more action/fighting then I expected which I didn't mind. I think in the beginning you have to really follow along with what they're doing and then you get the jits of what's going on. I think that a problem with the movie was that Holmes and sometimes Watson talk too fast and you can't exactly catch what they said... my friends thought the same thing too. Maybe it's because they're talking with an English accent and I'm American... I dont know haha. I realized that if you listen REALLY carefully you'll get exactly what they're saying. There were funny and haha moments so it's not a completely all serious movie. However it was a pretty LONG movie... If you make it to the end everything makes A LOT of sense. It's one of those movies where in the end ties the whole movie together, so you should definitely stay through the whole movie to UNDERSTAND the whole movie. I don't want to give anything away but the ending kind of left you hanging, so there might potentially be a sequel. Overall I would rate this movie 8/10.

Need A New Lipbalm!

I'm coming to a finish with my old lipbalm from Nivea.

It has done a somewhat good job because it had the SPF I needed last summer and made my lips soft but it still gave me flakely-ish lips and it left a strange white-ish color on my lips so I would wear it with a colored lipgloss. I'm looking forward to trying out a new lipbalm. Let me know of any really good ones in the comments! :)

A Mini, Mini Drugstore Haul

I went to run some errands and ended up going to Duane Reade. I get really really excited when I saw A LOT of yellow 50% off tags in the make-up aisle. I dont know if its in all Duane Reade but if you're near one you should definitely go see cause there was a lot of cheap stuff. I didn't get too much though because I have to save money for textbooks next semester :( VERY SAD. I definitely need a job when I get back to school. Well here's what I got:

-Jane. Contour Brush
-Revlon Eyeshadow in Coastal Blues
I loved everything I bought but I have to say the Revlon lipgloss did not give the nude lips that I wanted.
